A Word from the Director

I graduated from Medical School in 1997 with a zeal to help mankind and make a difference. It soon became evident, in my early years as a Clinician, that HIV and AIDS was a major role-player in determining quality and span of life for an individual. There is no other medical condition in the history of mankind that has reeked such devastation to individuals, families, communities and societies. This virus does not respect colour, age, or economic standing. My generation is under attack by an enemy that cannot be seen and that thrives on ignorance, apathy and disinterest. My prayer is that:

  1. We can change perceptions
  2. We can break the silence
  3. We can destroy the stigma
  4. We can provide hope
  5. We can light the way
  6. We can make a difference
  7. We can impact this generation

We must be salt and light. We must be at the forefront, leading the way to moral regeneration. It is our endeavour to give help the helpless, hope to the hopeless and care for our community.
