Activities & Services
On average, we see 250 patients per month and provide medical examinations, testing and treatment, ongoing counselling, hospital referrals, recommendations for antiretrovirals (ARVs) and more - all at no cost to our patients.
This is done by committed doctors, nurses, and HIV/AIDS counsellors.
We are also heavily involved in HIV/AIDS education and awareness work, and hold a monthly 10-day counsellor's course for community members. This educates lay people about HIV/AIDS (and these in turn educate their families and communities), and provides a potential source of income for such people, who may then be employed as counsellors.
In addition to this, we offer HIV awareness talks to companies, prevention /abstinence talks in schools and on campuses, and are actively endeavouring to extend our training in these sectors. Following such talks, we are able to offer HIV counselling and testing for those who would like this service on an in-house basis.
Over and above all this, we have an outreach program in Kwa-Dabeka, where a community worker oversees more than 200 orphans and vulnerable children, providing support to the "carers" of these children.
