Sharing the Love & Compassion of Jesus with a simple loaf of bread.

It was during our 21 days of prayer and fasting this year, that the Lord began to speak to us about reaching out to our communities through one on one personal evangelism. After the fast was over, my wife Joy spoke about the idea of taking bread into the communities and using that as a means to reach people for the Lord and so began “Bread of Life Ministries.”

We started on the Wednesday morning with the pastors and staff of the Durban Christian Centre after which we opened it to the church. The response was phenomenal to say the least and we can honestly say that it has truly been a life changing experience for all who have been involved.

The awesome thing about “Bread of Life” is that we have not only witnessed many salvations but also seen many added to the church. In April, we saw 30 out of a cast and crew of 150 people participate in our Easter Production “Intense Love” who were effectively touched and added through the “Bread of Life” ministry.

Amazingly, the Bread of Life ministry also triggered off the feeding schemes that now take place in 4 locations on a Wednesday; namely Charles Hugo Primary School, Rippon Primary School, Sydenham Primary School and Galway Park in Mayville and to that end we want to express our heartfelt thanks to Ps Anand and Suzanne Parusnath for their outstanding ministry. They have raised up a wonderful group of ladies that gather together on a Wednesday morning to cook the most outrageous soup you have ever tasted and this soup is now feeding over 1000 people every Wednesday. Thank you guys!

On the 7th of April I was asked to talk to the pastors and staff of the Goodhope Christian Centre about “Bread of Life Ministries” and the following day we took the pastors and staff as well as 60 people from the Goodhope Christian Centre out into the communities and “Bread of Life” was birthed their too, for which we give Jesus all the praise!
The response has been overwhelming to say the least but I think the greatest thing has been the change that it has brought about in the lives of the pastors and staff.

Ps Fred’s passion has always been to see souls saved as well as to see them discipled for the Lord Jesus Christ and “Bread of Life” has been one of the means, amongst others, to help us accomplish this. We have seen countless people surrender their hearts to the Lord, ranging from drug addicts, Muslims, Hindus, men, women, teenagers and even children from all walks of life. The Bible declares in Rom 10:13 For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved,” and we have seen and testify that the “whoever” have come to the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

We now envisage the Life Groups implementing “Bread of Life” and evangelizing their neighbourhoods and communities with the love of Jesus and already some have caught the vision and have embarked on the most exciting journey of their saved lives.
This truly is the day of the saints, every born again, blood washed, Holy-Ghost filled person, a minister and ambassador for Christ. Yes, Jesus is coming back for a glorious church, without spot wrinkle and blemish!
