<itunes:summary>Durban Christian Centre was established by Dr Fred & Nel Roberts. The church is the first multi-cultural non-denominational church in KwaZulu Natal. Due to phenomenal growth, Durban Christian Centre purchased the Lyric Theatre in Umbilo to accommodate the larger volume of people and established the Durban Christian Centre Bible Training College. Durban Christian Centre utilized the Embassy Theatre which accommodated 2,000 people. Durban Christian Centre purchased the Alhambra Theatre. This venue continues to be used as our inner-city church. Durban Christian Centre extended to other parts of the city by leasing buildings for worship in Kwa-Mashu, Umlazi and Chatsworth. “The Jesus Dome ” was built and dedicated. This octagonal building accommodates 5,000 people, and is the largest aluminum dome in the Southern Hemisphere. This facility also has a large Conference Centre, state of the art children’s facility, bookshop and restaurant. In addition to seven city-wide Worship Centres, DCC currently feeds over 3,000 people weekly, runs a free HIV/Aids Clinic, two Schools, one in Illovo, South Coast, and one in Mayville with over 400 children in attendance,as well as a Bible Training College, and a Camp Site in Cato Ridge that accommodates over 194 people. DCC employs 125 Pastors and Staff.</itunes:summary>
