About us - An overview of DCCBC
Durban Christian Centre Bible College is a school with a difference, a school of the Spirit. The Bible School is not limited to the teaching of dry theology, quite the contrary DCCBC teaches the current move of the Holy Ghost.
The emphasis is on faith; the gifts of the Holy Spirit; understanding the work and move of the Holy Ghost; flowing in the dynamic of the dynamic of the spontaneous Holy Spirit leading: worship; prayer and signs, wonders and miracles.
The school has a passionate zeal for winning the lost for Jesus. Every learner is trained to and is expected to win souls. In the last three years the school has won 4,200 souls during various outreach campaigns.
The curriculum is not classroom bound in the least. Learners are expected to take what they learn and apply it in the outside world. Outreach programmes are built into the timetable every week. Learners are expected to be involved in at least 7½ hours ministry every week.
Every learner is expected to attend one mission trip annually. Here the learner ministry ranges from preaching, leading home-cells, evangelism, dram, leading prayer meetings, conducting youth meetings, praying for the sick, hospital and orphanage visitations as well as church maintenance.
Golden Nugget lectures are conducted regularly as time is given for international speakers to impart into the lives of the learners. Each learner must also make one scheduled, educational tour to Israel. Each day begins with powerful chapel sessions. Learners are taught to flow in the Holy Ghost during these times as well as operate in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. These worship and prayer sessions are intense and by far the favorite times of the learner. The manifest presence of God is undeniable and life changing.
The lectures are balanced with biblical, Theological and Practical courses. The faculty eagerly seeks every opportunity to impart into the lives of the learners. It is not uncharacteristic for lectures to take an unexpected turn as the Holy Spirit has His way in the timetable.
The emphasis is undeniably on the practical. During lectures on activating the prophetic, learners are given activation sessions during lecture time. In other subjects such as Children's Ministry and Effective Youth Leadership, demonstration lectures are conducted with a view to apply what they have learnt. During lectures on the Holy Spirit, lectures reflect the unctioning of the Holy Ghost – whether it be worship, prayer, crying or laughing.
An emphasis is placed on the unity of the learner body as well as Christian character. We expect learners to demonstrate exemplary Christian character. It is the intention of the College to assist learners in improving their faith which can only be done by adding goodness, understanding, self-control, patience, devotion to God, concern for others and love. If learners keep growing in this way, it will show that what they know about our Lord Jesus Christ has made their life useful and meaningful. (2 Peter 1: 8).
School of Ministry
This school equips learners in the Word of God, making them Biblically literate.
Lecturers are conducted throughout the morning and times are allocated to the learners to put into practice that which has been imparted to them.
Lectures are categorized into Biblical, Theological and Practical courses, however, learners are taught not what to do, but how to do what they should be doing. Even theological courses have a practical angle to them. Here the learner is taught how to worship, pray, fast, and skillfully minister the Word of Truth. This is achieved by means of hour-long chapel sessions every morning. Lectures are practical and time is given for the application of what is learnt during the mission trips, and Church ministry under the leadership of an Area Pastor.
An emphasis is placed on evangelism and the gifts of the Spirit by weekly outreaches as well as bigger evangelism events during the weekend. Learners are taught to pray for the sick during hospital, hospice and other visitations.
